We may suspend or terminate access to any Interactive Feature immediately if you breach these Terms of Use, our policies, or if your use poses an immediate safety or legal risk.

The terms were reorganized and expanded. A new Interactive Features section lets Netflix suspend or end access to live features such as voting or chat right away for rule breaches or safety or legal risks, and a new rule bars using the service for machine learning training or testing. Extra Member and Offers language was added, while the detailed billing, cancellation, refund and price-change wording was removed from this excerpt. If you use live voting, chat, or other interactive features, Netflix can cut off that access immediately, without a warning period. The removed billing and cancellation details, such as the rule that payments are non-refundable, may still appear elsewhere in the full terms, so check the current text rather than assuming they are gone. Before your next renewal date, read the full current terms for the billing, cancellation, and refund rules, and check Netflix's account page to confirm your renewal date and how to cancel.

We also collect information on Advertiser websites and apps.

Netflix added a sentence saying it also collects information on Advertiser websites and apps, not just on the Netflix service itself. The update also expands advertising data to include inferences about you or your household and information from ad partners. Netflix may gather data about how you interact with ads on other companies' sites and apps, so ad-related tracking can reach beyond Netflix. This data may be used for behavioral ads, which are chosen based on your activity both on and off Netflix. Before your next renewal date, go to Account > Privacy and data settings for each profile and review the Behavioral Advertising setting, then decide whether you want to change it.

Such content and new features may contain commercial breaks and other types of commercial messages and advertising formats (“Advertisements”).

The terms now say that live or special events and new features may include commercial breaks and advertising, and they drop the older wording that tied ads to a specific ad-supported plan and said ads could appear regardless of plan. The update also adds that the service is provided by Netflix International B.V., states that Netherlands law governs the terms, and says the terms don't limit consumer protection rights under your home country's mandatory laws. Ads may show up in live events, replays, and new features even if you're not on an ad-supported plan, which is a change from the previous wording that tied ads to a plan. Plan-specific limits such as offline downloads and which content is available may also differ by plan, and those details are supposed to be disclosed at sign-up or in other communications. Before your next renewal date, check your current plan's ad and offline-download details in your account settings or the plan comparison page, and confirm whether you're comfortable with ads appearing in live events or new features. If you have questions about how the governing-law or consumer-protection wording applies to you, consider asking a qualified legal professional.

We may offer a number of subscription plans, including subscription plans that contain commercial breaks and other types of commercial messages and advertising formats (“Advertisements”).

The terms now explicitly say Netflix may offer ad-supported plans with advertising formats, and that even ad-free plans may show limited Netflix promos or other Netflix product information. Netflix can also change plans and prices when listed cost factors such as licensing, production, and taxes rise, and it can change the terms for more reasons, including business restructuring. You may see ads on some plans, and ad-free plans may still show Netflix promotions. Prices and plan features can change more easily, and promotional offers can be revoked if Netflix decides you are ineligible, based on information such as your device ID or payment method. Before your next renewal date, check the Account page for your next payment date, current plan, and plan features, and compare them against the plans Netflix currently offers.

- Advertising Companies: We may disclose certain personal information to Advertising Companies (see definition above) in order to select Advertisements shown on Netflix, to facilitate interaction with Advertisements, and to measure and improve effectiveness of Advertisements.

The privacy statement previously limited sharing personal information with Advertising Companies to people on Netflix's ad-supported plan. That condition has been removed, so the sharing now applies to all users, along with a broader list of advertising-related purposes. Related sections were updated the same way, so advertising collection and use now cover all accounts, not just ad-tier ones. If you're on a standard Netflix plan without ads, your personal information, such as device identifiers and activity data, may now be shared with advertising partners to select and measure ads, even though the earlier wording suggested this was limited to ad-plan subscribers. The main controls mentioned are the Behavioral Advertising setting in your account's Privacy and data settings and your device's ad settings. Before your next renewal date, sign in to your Netflix account, open Privacy and data settings for each profile, and review the Behavioral Advertising and Matched Identifier Communications options, then check your device's privacy or ads settings to decide whether to adjust them.
